Vintage HARDY 9 ft 2" featherweight Perfection Palakona Fly rod.

Vintage Two Piece Hardy Bros. 9ft 2". Split Cane Fly Rod, "The Featherweight" Perfection.
The Hardy 'Featherweight' is a split cane Palakona 2-piece rod made by Hardy's of Alnwick. The rod is in superb condition with green silk whippings, suction joints, adjustable alloy screw grip reel holder 10 ½" cork handle. It has the registration number E2388 dating it to 1926, see last photo. The rod is 9 ft 2" long has the painted black inscription spiralling around the shaft 'the 'Featherweight Perfection', 'Palakona' and 'Regd. Trade Mark'. The butt and end rings are Agate, intermediate are 'full open" (showing light corrosion)
I purchased this rod some time ago, the tip eye was missing and the second eye was close to the end, it had obviously been damaged, the second eye has been moved down, the tip tidied and a new eye fitted by a quality rod maker, so i imagine it was originally 9'6"
The rod works well, is as straight as a die with no kinks
